Operation Theatre Complex is undoubtedly one of the most important, and often difficult, clinical area to design. The Sterile Supply Department within a hospital receives stores, sterilizes and distributes to all departments including the wards, outpatient department [OPD] and other special units such as operating theatre [OT].

Critical Care
Critical Care highly specified and sophisticated area of a hospital which is specifically designed, staffed, located, furnished and equipped, dedicated to management of critically sick patient, injuries or complications. It operates 24 x 7, often in a very busy and chaotic environment and hence needs proper design and planning.

In last 15 yrs., there has been stupendous growth in this area but much needs to be done in area of infrastructure planning, particularly from the point of view of infection control, area work flow analysis and integration with other departments like OT complex, Cardiology and Radiology.

We at PS3 have in-house specialist engineers who have worked closely with intensivists over last 20 years, and hence we emphasize on above important design parameters while planning every critical care department.
Cardio-Vascular laboratories play an increasing part in treating patients via intravascular procedures. When planning a vascular laboratory, it should be kept in mind that the main purpose of such a laboratory is to treat patients using various interventional skills. Planning a vascular laboratory depends on various factors like the geographic environment of the radiology practice, the need for interventional procedures, types of angiography procedures, the number of patients, building size, and lastly the budget available for equipment and running costs. We will play an integral part in planning and developing a catheterization laboratory.

Apart from fulfilling the requirements of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) and AERB guidelines on X-ray protection, we design the vascular laboratory in such a way that patient flow is optimum, enough space is given for bringing in other equipment and personnel, sterile components storage and necessary IT Infrastructure for image viewing, processing and recording.
Alongwith OT Complex and Critical Care area, Radiology is undoubtedly one of the most important and complex area to design, simply because not only it is built by some of the most expensive equipment in industry, it is an also very busy area with workload increasing exponentially over years. Key planning and design considerations for radiology rooms are equipment layout, electrical planning, isolation shielding and IT Integration.
